The Trading Manager role offers an opportunity to lead trading activities from Vientiane, Laos, with domestic and overseas travel required. The position combines opportunity assessment, trading execution, portfolio analysis, profitability management, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
Identify new opportunities within the trading field
Analyse opportunities based on profit margins, inventory turnover, and business cycles
Manage daily trading activities, including product and portfolio execution
Conduct detailed weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales analysis to develop immediate and long-term strategies
Manage gross profit and gross margin performance to achieve budgeted profitability
Select products for weekly emails based on overperformance and underperformance
Provide direct oversight and supervision of agency traders, ensuring that equity, option, and exchange-traded fund orders meet the firm’s best-execution quality standards
Lead or participate as a subject matter expert in projects and other business-driven initiatives
Set goals, manage performance, recruit employees, and coach and develop team members to support individual and team success
Monitor market structure and regulatory changes
Requirements
Educational background in economics, finance and banking, or export and import
Experience with the routing capabilities of wholesalers, exchanges, and electronic communication networks
Strong organisational skills
Proactive problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to undertake domestic and overseas business travel
English proficiency will be an advantage
