Senior Project Purchasing Buyer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as purchasing representative for assigned Project and take overall responsibility of the purchasing activities.
• Manage and lead, purchasing project team for all projects (New Development/ Transfer projects) and ensure Project targets ( Quality/ Quantity/ Time line)  are met from purchasing side
• Initiate & define Purchase Project strategy for Transfer projects with alignment of Region/Global Commodity Manager & Business Unit Purchase regard to the local supplier base, sourcing strategies in terms of single/dual sourcing and the requirement of developing suppliers
• Represent Purchase in Management/CFT meeting to share Purchase status & highlight risk if any required for escalation
• Periodic Monitor of parts status, including review with Supplier Development, Commodity Manager , Supplier quality Engineer & timely highlight of Potential risk if any.
• Conduct buying/market analysis, including material supply chain, value analysis to drive cost down/localization projects with the supports from LB, SD and engineering team
• Coordinate the sourcing activities and take part in the sourcing decision
• Take overall responsibility of inputs towards other functions like LB (Lead Buyer) and SD (Supplier Development) within Purchasing e.g. complete enquiry documents (specification, quantities, schedule, targets etc.) sales/planned quantities provided to LB for requirements planning at suppliers and so on
• To share the competitive material prices to Project team for New Business
• Organize regular meetings with internal customers and project meetings
• Reporting according to company guidelines
• Support global and regional Business Unit Purchasing activities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering is prefer) with 7 to 10 years of experience in similar industry or related commodities in Direct Material Purchasing, Purchase project management role.
• Have strong technical background in mechanics. 
• Good experience and knowledge in purchasing affairs and production process
• Knowledge in Cost Estimation
• Strong commitment to business targets
• Capable to manage complex projects in matrix organization
• Good Strategically thinking
• Project Management Skills
• Fluent English in speaking and writing
• Good Communication skills on an international basis
• Knowledge in SAP
