JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Investment Manager / Senior Investment Manager is responsible for developing strategies for managing a significant portfolio of company investments, including:

Investment activities
  • Conduct market and competition analysis and establish a strategy for the deployment of capital in renewable energy investments.
  • Manage the origination and execution of Vietnam clean energy investments (acquisitions, merges, investment, and divestitures) in projects, joint ventures and development platforms, and working directly with key stakeholders, including internal management, cross-function interaction, external advisors, investors, etc.
  • Oversee the production of financial models for renewable energy generation projects/assets.
  • Supervise the preparation of and defend investments proposals in the local Investment Committee
  • Network and manage relationships with co-investors.
  • Manage working relationships with external advisors (developers, lawyers, technical advisors, debt providers, EPC contractors, etc.) in Vietnam and/or in the region (if any).
M&A
  • Lead the evaluation of M&A opportunities for end-to-end (origination – conducting due diligence – submitting offers – transaction documents negotiations – closing the transaction)
  • Lead the preparation of all key memos (board presentations, valuation notes, etc.) pertaining to M&A opportunities.
  • Lead the liaison with the prospective sellers/partners and drive the negotiations with them.
  • Be the main point of contact for internal coordination, local management, and the M&A team from HQ.
  • Build/Maintain the right factors in financial modeling, key assumptions, etc. and adapt the model when necessary.
  • Create and maintain the M&A deal pipeline.
  • Build a strong network for originating deals and a systematic approach to shortlist and process deals.
Others
  • Support the Project Finance team for debt raising.
  • Other ads hoc operational finance activities (if any). 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field
  • Other relevant certifications such as CFA or ACA will be seen as an advantage.
Experience:
  • At least 10 years of experience in finance or relevant and at least 3-year organic experience in M&A and investment in renewable energy, with a track record of successfully leading M&A deals and/or investment portfolio management. Experience in rooftop solar systems and closing deals within Vietnam will be an advantage.
Skills:
  • Strong analytical and corporate finance skills: Able to understand and assess value & value drivers for contemplated M&A opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: Able to effectively present proposals to the leadership team and external stakeholders including investors. Builds and maintains excellent relationships with external advisors and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and deal-making skills: Responsible for negotiating and structuring M&A deals, including structuring due diligence programs and coordinating the same.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: Able to identify and evaluate complex M&A opportunities and develop creative solutions to overcome challenges and barriers.
  • Leadership experience: Responsible for coordination between cross-functions and will need to be able to lead and motivate team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Ability to work well under pressure: Need to be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Attention to detail: The Investment Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end investment process and must pay close attention to detail and ensure that all aspects of the process are handled accurately and efficiently.
