A famous brand in retail chain stores is looking for a Manager for Purchasing Department, who has significant experience in retail industry.

  • Coordinate and manage overall operations of the Purchasing Department to ensure sufficient supplies at competitive pricing and terms.
  • Execute research and strategic plan for developing new products.
  • Identify, compare, and qualify offers from suppliers to ensure competitive market advantage.
  • Negotiate best possible conditions (price, delivery, quality, payment, etc.) with suppliers yet maintain sustainable relationships with them.
  • Facilitate contract execution with suppliers to ensure that required terms and conditions are included.
  • Track and manage contract termination dates.
  • Regularly communicate with suppliers to update on any changes and adjust department plan accordingly.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve cost effectiveness.
  • Undertake research and evaluate suppliers to ensure performance goals and business results.
  • Prepare alternative suppliers for low performance ones within limited time.
  • Categorize suppliers and identify strategies to manage relationship with them accordingly.
  • Ensure professional and consistent approach to all supplier relationships.
  • Assess and resolve any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact to business operations.
  • Build and improve the department policy and procedure, develop innovative work processes.
  • Manage subordinates and improve department operation and performance towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
  • Other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

  • At least 7 years of similar working experience in the industry.
  • Experienced in managerial positions.
  • Purchasing/Buying working experience in supermarket/convenience store.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and above.
  • Business English skill.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good people management and interpersonal skills.
