The Financial Advisory Services (FAS) Support Staff - Japanese Speaker role facilitates communication between Japanese-speaking clients and Vietnamese-speaking colleagues across accounting, tax, and financial advisory engagements. The position offers an entry point into professional services through translation, interpretation, client support, and exposure to a broad range of advisory projects.
Responsibilities
Support communication between Japanese-speaking clients and Vietnamese-speaking colleagues using Japanese and Vietnamese, primarily across the following service areas:
Financial and tax due diligence
Post-Merger Integration (PMI)
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) advisory
Internal control advisory and internal audit
Transfer pricing documentation
Vietnamese tax advisory, including Personal Income Tax (PIT), Corporate Income Tax (CIT), and Value Added Tax (VAT)
Responding to client enquiries under consulting service contracts
Translate reports from English or Vietnamese into Japanese
Provide Japanese and Vietnamese interpretation during client meetings
Requirements
Japanese proficiency at Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 level or above
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field, or another relevant accounting or tax qualification
Japanese bookkeeping qualification at level 3 or above
Other relevant certification
No previous experience is required; recent graduates are welcome to apply
Knowledge of Vietnamese accounting standards and tax regulations will be an advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Excel, and PowerPoint will be an advantage
