The Deputy General Manager role offers an opportunity to establish and grow forwarding operations for a newly established office in Vietnam. Based onsite in Ho Chi Minh City, the position combines business development, operational management, team leadership, and customer support across sea, air, and land forwarding services.
Responsibilities
Build forwarding operations from the ground up, including processes, vendor management, team structure, and operational systems
Develop new business opportunities and generate revenue across sea, air, and land forwarding services
Manage daily forwarding operations while supporting customers and resolving operational issues
Lead, manage, and develop a local team across Sales, Operations, and Accounting functions
Drive business expansion through KPI management, including revenue growth, gross profit, and customer acquisition
Collaborate closely with the Vietnam country manager to support the overall growth strategy of the local office
Undertake occasional domestic business trips within Vietnam as required
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher
7 to 10 years of experience in the forwarding industry
Experience across both sales and operations functions
Demonstrated ability to generate and develop business independently
Business-level English communication skills
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Experience working in a small team or start-up environment is highly preferred
An established customer network in Vietnam will be an advantage
Japanese or Chinese language skills are preferred
